In a shocking and deeply troubling incident that has stirred public outrage, a PIA Employee Caught Stealing Passenger Luggage at Karachi Airport at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. The incident occurred inside the secure baggage handling area, where passengers trust that their belongings will be handled with care and honesty. Unfortunately, this case shattered that trust.
According to airport officials, the PIA staff member was seen acting suspiciously while managing checked-in bags. Upon closer surveillance and investigation, CCTV footage revealed him opening a passenger’s suitcase and removing valuable items, including electronics, clothing, and possibly cash. Security staff at the airport were immediately alerted, and the employee was confronted on the spot. Upon being questioned, he initially denied the theft, but the video evidence left little room for doubt.
The employee has since been detained by Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel and handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings. PIA management has suspended the individual and launched an internal investigation to determine how such a violation of duty and trust occurred within their ranks. They have also promised strict action against anyone else found involved or complicit in similar activities.

This disturbing event has triggered serious concerns among travelers about the safety of their belongings and raised broader questions about the level of supervision and background checks performed on airline staff. Many passengers have taken to social media, expressing frustration and demanding greater accountability from the national carrier.
PIA has issued a formal statement apologizing to the affected passenger and to the public at large, assuring that such incidents will not be tolerated and that new security protocols are being considered to prevent any repeat of this disgraceful act.
